Getting Started with Technology

Download Software *- OIT provides software downloads for UT owned computers.
Microsoft Teams – Microsoft Teams is an app to help you collaborate, communicate, and share files in a single area with a select group of people.
SUPER *– The System for University Planning, Evaluation, and Reporting (SUPER) is Extension’s reporting system. SUPER Help
K@TE *– K@TE (pronounced Kate) is UT’s online learning management system. K@TE houses hundreds of e-learning courses which can be taken for professional development credit.
You will need to access K@TE in order to complete required trainings.

- To see trainings that have been assigned, click on My Active Courses.
- To begin the training, click Open Curriculum or Launch.

Zoom Video Meetings *– Zoom is used for video meetings. UTIA employees have a premium account with no time limitations on meetings. To download UTIA Zoom backgrounds, click here.
IRIS *– IRIS is the University branded enterprise resource planning system providing financial and human resources functionality across the UT system. The IRIS Support site offers downloads, training, and help for using IRIS. IRIS training for the many functions of IRIS can be found in K@TE by searching for “IRIS” in the search box.
IRIS Employee Self Service – Access pay statements, benefits summaries, time entry, leave requests and balances, effort certification, etc.
Pulse Secure VPN *– Pulse secure is required to be downloaded in order to access IRIS while not connected to a UT network.
Duo Two-Factor Authentication* – Two-factor authentication is required when logging in to UT systems. This tutorial will show you how to set up Duo on your smartphone for two-factor authentication.
Update Your Profile in SUPER– Upload your profile photo, which will be shown for your directory entry on UTIA websites.
County Connections E-folio for Extension Agents
This electronic portfolio and workbook is a tool meant to help you learn about Tennessee Extension and your county. Through exploration and reflection, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of your community’s unique needs and the valuable resources Extension provides to address them. The e-folio is designed to be an interactive learning experience, guiding you through key aspects of your county and Extension’s role within it. As you complete sections of this e-folio, consider the profound impact of connecting with your community. By building relationships, sharing knowledge, and collaborating on real life solutions, Tennessee Extension improves the quality of life of Tennesseans. Extension is a catalyst for positive change, empowering individuals and communities to thrive. The e-folio is to be reviewed at 3 months with the county director and completed by 6-months from date of employment.

History of Extension and the Land Grant System Online Learning *- The Extension Service is proud to have such a rich history. Take your time and learn about the great events, legislation, and people that have made our Extension organization so great today. To access this 1 hour e-learning, go to K@TE and type in “A Historical Overview of the U.S. Cooperative Extension System” and click “request” to view the course.
Faculty and Staff Resources *– This internal site houses resources for faculty and staff.
Acronyms *- Extension has a lot of acronyms. Browse the glossary on the mentoring toolkit to learn what all the abbreviations mean.
Mentoring Program – All new Extension Agents and Administrative Support Assistants are assigned a mentor for their first year of employment. Your mentor will be in contact with you within a few weeks of your start date. Mentors will communicate with you regularly and schedule face-to-face meetings. They can help you locate other resources and answer questions you may have.
Other Resources
Get Your VolCard – VolCards are digital now. This page will explain how to get your VolCard on your phone.
Business Cards, Name Tags, and Stationery – This site provides more information about marketing resources you will need as you establish your identity as a UTIA employee. Your regional or county office will usually order these items for you, so check with your supervisor before ordering.
Procurement Cards– The procurement card program provides a convenient way to purchase supplies for the university using a UT credit card. Check with your regional office about procedures to obtain a procurement card if needed.
Travel – This site has training available on travel policy, travel cards, and using Concur, UT’s travel system.

Download Logos and Templates *– The UT Extension Marketing Toolkit contains all the approved logos and helpful templates, as well as training for marketing Extension programs.

Are you a new County Director? *- The LEAD95 Toolkit houses resources for county directors to fulfill their administrative duties.
UT Human Resources New Employee Resources – This website houses new employee forms and benefits information.
Resources for Campus Staff – These are a few resources you may find helpful if you work on the UTIA Knoxville campus.
Parking – Campus staff must have a parking hangtag and park in their assigned lot. Your department will complete the necessary paperwork to obtain a parking hangtag. If you are visiting campus, you must obtain a visitor parking pass from the office of UTIA General Services in Morgan Hall room 105.
