Cooperating Organizations

Regulations published under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibit UT Extension from working with or assisting any organization or group which excludes participation or treats participants unequally on the basis of race, color or national origin. Statewide organizations or groups that cooperate with UT Extension in the delivery of educational programs are asked to certify non-discrimination in membership via letter to the Dean, UT Extension. This list is updated on a five year cycle.

The organizations listed in this table have been notified by the UT Extension Dean of our policy of non-discrimination in the delivery of educational programs. Each organization below has affirmed “this organization does not exclude any person from membership or participation in any activities of the organization, or subject any person to discrimination because of race, color, age, national origin, sex, religion, veteran status or disability.”

Organizations Without a Letter On File With UT Extension Assuring Non-Discrimination

As outlined in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and supplemental instructions dated July 2, 1965, a letter of non-discrimination policy must be obtained from these groups before further cooperative relationships can be established or continued. Please see SP 413 “Civil Rights Regulations” for more information.

Organizations listed in this table have had a history of previous cooperation with UT Extension educational programs. They are listed here because a reply to the Dean’s letter was not received. Therefore, listing of an organization in this table should not be interpreted as an insinuation of discriminitory activity, but only that a letter of certification has not been received by UT Extension. Any group wishing to be removed from this list should contact Herb Byrd at (865) 974-7245.
